About Us
Grenoside Community Centre has been at the heart of village life since 1966, and after nearly 60 years, we’re as busy and as loved as ever!
Who We Are
We are a registered charity, owned and run by the local community, for the local community. Based in the thriving village of Grenoside in the north of Sheffield, the Centre is home to a wonderful mix of groups, clubs and activities that bring people together, support local causes and help make Grenoside a great place to live.
From drama and dancing to local history and keep fit, our groups pursue their own interests whilst also contributing to the running and upkeep of the Centre. It’s a model that has worked brilliantly for nearly six decades, and long may it continue!

What We Do
The Centre serves the community in two important ways.
First, it is home to a wide range of resident groups and activities, each with their own membership, programme and identity. Together, these groups form the beating heart of the Centre and raise vital funds to keep it going.
Second, the Centre is available for hire to external clubs, societies and organisations, as well as for private and commercial events. Set in parkland with a large car park, it’s a popular venue for all kinds of occasions. Dog shows are a particular favourite, making great use of our outdoor space!
Whether you’re here to join a group, hire a space or simply find out what’s going on, you’re very welcome.
Meet the Team
Grenoside Community Centre is governed by a dedicated volunteer trustee committee, led by our Chair. We also have a small but brilliant staff team who keep the Centre running day to day.
We are enormously grateful to everyone who gives their time and energy to make Grenoside Community Centre the special place it is.

Could You Help? We’re Looking for Volunteers!
Grenoside Community Centre is run almost entirely by volunteers, and we are always looking for enthusiastic and community-minded people to get involved. Whether you have a few hours a month or are looking for a more regular commitment, there is a role for you here.
We are particularly keen to hear from anyone who could help with:
- Joining the trustee committee and helping to shape the future of the Centre.
- Supporting the running of events and fundraisers, including the annual Grenoside Gala.
- General maintenance and upkeep of the building and grounds.
- Administrative and communications support.
- Helping at community events throughout the year.
Volunteering is a brilliant way to give something back to your community, meet new people and be part of something really worthwhile. No specific experience is necessary – just enthusiasm and a willingness to get stuck in!
If you’d like to find out more about volunteering at Grenoside Community Centre, please get in touch. We’d love to hear from you.
