Pantomime
About us
Oh yes it is! The Grenoside Pantomime Group has been delighting audiences since 1976, bringing joy, laughter and a healthy dose of audience participation to the community every year. With eight performances across the end of January and beginning of February, it’s one of the most anticipated events in the Grenoside calendar.
This year the group celebrated a very special milestone, their 50th anniversary, with a production they had never performed before, The Little Mermaid. Since 1976, over 800 people have been involved with the group, and while very few of the current cast and crew were even born when it all started, there are many members who have enjoyed years of performances together. A special mention must go to Sally Fletcher, who appeared in the very first pantomime back in 1976 and has now been involved in an incredible 38 productions!
Coming Up: Robin Hood (2027) Following the hugely successful Little Mermaid, the 2027 production will be Robin Hood! The Registration Evening was held on Wednesday 6th May, with lots of new faces coming along to find out more. The new cast is being assembled now, so watch this space for updates!
Anyone interested in getting involved, either on or off stage, is always welcome. Rehearsals are a brilliant way to meet new people and be part of something really special.
When are the shows? Performances take place over eight shows at the end of January and beginning of February each year.
